Huachuca City (pop. 1,626) is located along State Route 90, north of Sierra Vista, and about 24 miles south of Interstate 10. It borders Fort Huachuca, the largest employer in Cochise County, providing a convenient and affordable home for the fort's workforce. Brownfield Assessment Grant funding is available through September 2026 for projects in Cochise County. Money is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Property owners, developers, and community members are encouraged to nominate local properties for brownfield site assessments as soon as possible.
